WeTransfer’s mission is to be the most representative creative site on the planet, having worked with more than 1000 artists from over 100 countries, our goal was to create a bespoke publication that embodied their mission in this collectable artifact. Inspired by our release of the Voyager Golden Record, WeTransfer reimagined what a modern global message of goodwill and hope for humanity might look like. Spotlighting the work of legendary illustrators such as Sophie Hollignton, Astronomer Wanda Diaz Merced, Global music curator Giles Peterson, amongst photographers and writers and over 40 cultural luminaries from every continent - the keepsake magazine that we created was the accompaniment to the client’s Message From Earth online activation. It was created to inspire selfless acts of cultural diplomacy in the years ahead.
Approach
Our approach focused on observing and honoring WeTransfer’s deep commitment to cultural creative patronage – combined with their consistent celebration of creative diversity; geographically, by creating a keepsake magazine designed to be as provocative as the works from the project contributors. Our goal was to celebrate the inspiration and the work of the contributors, without distracting from the contributions themselves. We developed a system that housed the creative diversity that WeTransfer curated, while providing visual cohesion that reflected the spirit of the campaign overall. The result was a beloved journal that compliments the creative connections between the contributors when seen together.
